At the very northern part of Argentina, near the borders of Brazil and Paraguay, there is a spectacular area of over 200 waterfalls. There is much to do in the park and it is an unimaginable splendor…you have to see it to believe it!! It recently has become one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the WORLD.

Chillin’ on the 18 hour bus ride from Buenos Aires to Iguazú

We stayed in a hotel outside of the park near the Tri-Border area. I visited this amazing place during the night, where you could see the river that intersects all three countries and the glistening lights from Paraguay and Brazil.

The 3 flags of Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay at the Tri-Border

The Paraná river dividing the 3 countries

After we saw the Tri-Border, we went to the falls. The first walkway we took was to see all of the amazing waterfalls.

Warning: You WILL get soaked!

Around the waterfalls you see above, we took an awesome boat tour actually INTO those falls. They of course record a video of your reaction when you are blasted with water, which you can buy later (tourism tactics). It was simply amazing. You go into 2 different falls, the one you see directly above, and one around the corner. You will be sopping wet by the end.

As a side note: Go to the bathroom BEFORE you enter the park!!! A friend and I had to pee very badly and we had to run up the hills and pee by some hidden trashcans with guards all around us. Let’s just say it was an exhilarating experience at the least.

Here is a before and after shot…the second one I don’t look happy (I was)…it is my trademark face 😉

Me and my mama before getting soaked (I visited the park twice)

Hilarious.

The second thing you do at the park is go to La Garganta del Diablo, or The Devil’s Throat. It is exactly what it sounds like…a roaring waterfall falling into a deep abyss. So amazing, so loud, so wet. Here are some photos:

My friend Matt and I at La Garganta del Diablo

And of course…another tourist trap is people taking a professional picture of your group for $$$. Well one of my fellow study abroad group members snapped a photo of the photo se we all got it for free hehehe…

So awesome! Here are a few other pics of nature we saw in the falls:

Pretending to lick a gigantic ant

An Awesome Caterpillar

A Toucan!!

Las Cataratas de Iguazú is a MUST SEE! I feel so awesome for going to one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. With over 200 falls, the Devil’s Throat, and amazing nature, it is a spectacular experience.

Telos & Sex

Parking garage in front of your room!

So I was working on a project for my International Studies class on Sex Trafficking. I stumbled on the Telos of Buenos Aires, which I totally forgot about. This is something to be heard.

Telos: Hotel rooms you can rent by the hour. I mean I don’t know, I am sure you can find somewhere else to go, but actually, that’s the thing. Many young people of Buenos Aires don’t move out of their parents’ houses until their late 20s maybe even early 30s…This is something very different from our cultures. So, if you are 28 and want to bang your girlfriend, but you still live with your parents…well just go to a telo! There are over 150 telos in Buenos Aires!

If you would like to search through and find endless amounts of telos in Buenos Aires, click here.

The higher the price is, the better the service, cleaner the room, and cooler the whole experience is. I myself have NOT been to a telo, but I do have a friend who visited one. Apparently the mirror on the ceiling is pretty fun 😉

These places are open throughout the day and night, some of the telos let you park your car in front of the room! Porn, condoms, and mirrors are frequently provided. Higher end telos might have costumes, jacuzzis, and rooms with cool themes!

Themes can be, but not limited to: Star Wars, Arabian, Safari, American, Greek, etc…

If you would like to read a traveler’s personal experience at a telo, click here.

That’s it for now!
